Listen to The Killers' 'Sam's Town' demo 'Peace Of Mind'
The Killers have reissued their second album 'Sam's Town' for its 10th anniversary. It includes a demo from the period called 'Peace Of Mind'. Scroll below to listen to that track.

'Sam's Town' was released in October 2006, following on from their 2004 debut 'Hot Fuss'. NME wrote of the album at the time: "The tunes may be huger, the influences cleverer, the lyrics more adventurous and the band more self-assured, but their primary concern is still being the biggest indie-pop stars on the planet."

The two-disc vinyl reissue is out today (October 7), featuring remastered recordings of the LP's original tracks, plus demo 'Peace Of Mind' and the Pet Shop Boys remix of 'Read My Mind'. Find more details here.

Preview 'Peace Of Mind' beneath via SoundCloud and stream in full through Apple Music.

The Killers performed tracks from 'Sam's Town' last month (September 30) for the first time in nearly a decade. The band marked its anniversary with two shows at Sams Town Hotel And Gambling Hall in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, The Killers have begun recording their fifth studio album. The Las Vegas band started sessions in their hometown last month (September 9).

Drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr told DIY: "We go into the studio two days from now. On the ninth [September], we start on the ninth."

He continued: "We'll see what happens. We've been working with different people and seeing how it feels, and we're starting to work with another person now. I don't know if we wanna reveal who that is."

The drummer said he expected the sessions to be "surprising" because "when we get in [the studio] we come at it from one direction, and then it'll go another direction".

Green Day lyrics quiz: How many can you complete?

Singer Billie Joe Armstrong had previously said Revolution Radio was inspired by their anger at the state of America, and that the rise of Donald Trump since it was completed scared them.

Armstrong told Kerrang! in August: "The worst problem I see about Trump is who his followers are. "I actually feel bad for them, because they're poor, working-class people who can't get a leg up. They're pissed off and he's preyed on their anger. He just said: 'You have no options and I'm the only one, and I'm going to take care of it myself.' I mean, that's fucking Hitler, man."

Armstrong had also said that the Black Lives Matter movement had inspired the trio for their first album since the Uno!, Dos!, Tre! trilogy in 2012, since when Armstrong has been rehab, which also inspired songs on Revolution Radio.

Meanwhile, Green Day are set for a huge London gig in summer 2017, having been announced to headline Barclaycard's British Summer Time in Hyde Park.

London in the summer, us and tens of thousands of fans having the biggest party in one of the world's most legendary venues," said Armstrong. "We have the best year to look forward to and this has just made it extra special.

Green Day will headline British Summer Time Festival at Hyde Park in London on Saturday July 1. A full line-up of support acts is yet to be announced. Tickets are on general sale from 9am today (October 7).

Liam Gallagher 'very cut up' over feud with brother Noel, says 'Supersonic' director
The director of new Oasis documentary film Supersonic has said that Liam Gallagher "seems very cut up" about the deterioration of his relationship with brother Noel Gallagher.

The pair have shared a tense relationship since the Britpop group's 2009 split, with Liam recently hitting out at Noel publicly, calling him a potato, describing him as the "Ronnie Corbett of rock" and comparing his brother's dress sense to that of Gary Barlow.

Supersonic received its premiere last Sunday, accompanied by a live Q&A with Liam, former guitarist Bonehead and director Mat Whitecross. Liam later called Noel a "shit bag" for not attending the premiere.

Now speaking to NME, Whitecross has given a behind-the-scenes look at the standout scenes from the picture. Read the full feature from this week's magazine here.

In the film, Liam says "obviously me and our kid don't have a relationship any more". Whitecross says of the moment: "Liam seems very cut up about it. Not to the point where hes going to beat on Noels door, but he relished being in a band. He talks about a sense of loss, not just of the band but of his brother."

    Getty

Whitecross continues: "Noel finds it strange that other people find it strange. He says they were never a touchy-feely family and all families are different. One of the first things I did was show them the footage backstage at Top Of The Pops, because the closeness and warmth really touched me. I dont think it was my imagination that they were moved by it, but theyd quickly move on and go, Hes a shitbag. Thats part of the fun."

Gallagher recently "held the olive branch out" to Noel, saying that he wants to repair the relationship with his elder sibling for the sake of their mother.

Liam told The Sunday Times: "Obviously [our mum would] like us to be chatting, sit around the table at Christmas. But its a stupid standoff, and we should know better, as we have kids. It would be nice for me and [Noel] to get back together as brothers. But its good, the standoff. Im enjoying it. I aint backing down. He aint backing down."

"At least people are still talking about it. Theyre obsessed," he added. "Theres no harm in it. He says shit about me. I say shit about him. I have held the olive branch out, and there has been nothing, so there you go. Potato it is, mate."

Prince's pet doves 'stopped singing' when he died
Prince's sister has revealed that the 'Purple Rain' icon's pet doves stopped crying after he died.

In a new interview with The Today Show, his sister Tyka Nelson opened up about the eerie atmosphere in Prince's home after his passing. His two pet doves, Majesty and Divinity, fell silent. The birds credited with ambient singing on his album 'One Nite Alone'.

If theyre quiet, it doesnt feel the same, she said. "After he passed, they werent talking. When I first came in, Im like, Wheres the doves? Whats going on?

After being told that the doves were still there but had stopped singing, she suggested playing Prince's music.

The 'Kiss' icon was found dead at his Minnesota Paisley Park home back in April, before an inquest found that he died of an accidental overdose of painkillers. He was just 57-years-old.

This week, a video tour of Prince's Paisely Park home was unveiled - before it opens its doors as a museum later this month.

Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan and John Mayer are also among the names confirmed for an official Prince tribute concert.

Listen to Kanye West say Taylor Swift 'owes' him sex in leaked 'Famous' demo
An early demo of Kanye West's 'Famous' has leaked online, featuring different lyrics about Taylor Swift than the ones that ended up on the final version.

'Famous' features on West's latest album 'The Life Of Pablo', released in February. The song's lyrics caused furore upon its release, with West boasting on the track: "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex".

This newly-leaked demo sees Kanye instead rapping: "I feel like Taylor Swift still owe me sex" before adding of his ex-girlfriend: "I feel like Amber Rose still owe me sex. Why? I made that bitch famous... not really but somewhat famous."

The demo also features a Nina Simone sample instead of Rihanna's eventual chorus and a verse from Young Thug. Listen in full beneath.

Swift had previously claimed to have not known about the song's lyrics prior to its release. However, Kim Kardashian later leaked a phone call showing Swift seemingly enthusing over the "I feel like Taylor Swift still owe me sex" line. However, However, Swift appears not to be aware of the lyrics that follow: "I made that bitch famous".

West went on to release his controversial 'Famous' video in the summer. It featured lifelike figurines of West, Swift and Kardashian, among other high-profile celebrities, all sharing a bed together.

Upon its release, Lena Dunham called the video "sickening", while Swift was reportedly "horrified" by it.

Meanwhile, West has returned to a recording studio for the first time since his wife Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint and robbed.

The rapper was spotted leaving Milk Studios in New York in the early hours of Thursday morning (October 6). He is believed to have been in the studio for four hours.

Kanye recently postponed two live tour dates after his wife was the victim of the robbery.

Stream Kaiser Chiefs' new album 'Stay Together'
Kaiser Chiefs have released their sixth album 'Stay Together'. Stream it now beneath.

It's their first LP since 2013 and features collaborations with MNEK and One Direction songwriter Wayne Hector.

Frontman Ricky Wilson has said of the band's new album: "When we finished writing the last record we realised that the most important thing to everyone is whats going on in their lives. Their 'personal politics' and thats what this album is about."

"If 'Education, Education, Education & War' was our protest album, then 'Stay Together' is our relationship album. Brian [Higgins] brought a very different approach to song writing and recording, it was a steep learning curve but together we tried out new ideas and sounds and ended up with a new and fresh sounding Kaiser Chiefs album. Like no Kaiser Chiefs record you have heard before."

Speaking to NME recently, Wilson said: "The music world has changed. Ten years ago, wed have been against co-writing with other musicians. It was: Were a band, its about what the five of us can create behind closed doors. But thats a daft way to approach it. Why, for the sake of ego, would you not make a song as good as it can possibly be?"

"You want modern technology," Wilson added of the band's new sound. "You dont want to just be dinosaurs with guitars."

Kaiser Chiefs play the following live dates next year:

Meanwhile, betting has been suspended on a possible Oasis reunion taking place in 2017.

The Britpop band split in 2009, with rumours of the group reuniting circulating ever since. Last week saw bookmakers slash the odds of Oasis reforming while former guitarist Bonehead added that he'd "be there like a shot" if a reunion seemed likely.

Now bookmakers Betway have suspended all bets on a 2017 Oasis reunion. The company's Alan Alger has said of the decision: "Our traders were put on red alert after a significant number of maximum stake bets at 5/4 for Oasis to reunite in 2017 were placed. Its a niche market to bet on, so it was immediately flagged up and the decision to suspend any further betting on the band getting back together was taken."

"If the betting activity has come from sources in the know, then it would seem we could well be on for an Oasis reunion next year. Well now just have to wait and see, and Im sure there will be millions of fans with their fingers crossed!"

Frank Turner, Maximo Park & more for Nick Alexander London tribute gig
Frank Turner, Maximo Park, Gaz Coombes and Travis's Fran Healy have all been announced to play a special London show in memory of Nick Alexander - who died in the Paris terror attacks at the Bataclan last November.

Alexander, 35 from Essex, was one of 90 civilians killed during the shootings at Paris' Le Bataclan music venue, which occurred during a series of violent attacks in the French capital on 13 November 2015. He was working at the gig as Eagles Of Death Metal's merchandise manager - but had also toured with the likes of Fall Out Boy, Sum 41, The Black Keys and many more.

Now, a new concert called A Peaceful Noise comes to London in November - which "aims to harness that solidarity and kick-start a movement that uses music to raise awareness, to unite and to pay tribute to all those who were affected by the attack".

Losing Nick in the horrible events in Paris was the worst part of last year," said Frank Turner. "He was truly one of the good guys. Bringing people together in the spirit of peace and music for an evening is the least we can do for his memory, I'm honoured to be asked to play."

Nick's sister and charity founder Zoe Alexander added: Live music was Nicks passion and it seemed only fitting that we mark the anniversary of his passing in this way. Everyone who lost their lives that night had a shared love of music and were thrilled to bring some of Nicks favourite artists together for this celebration of unity, peace and rock and roll.

The event will raise money for two music-related charities, The Nick Alexander Memorial Trust and Josh Hommes Sweet Stuff Foundation. This will be Frank Turner's only London show of 2016. The show will also feature DJ sets from [a]Bloc Party[/s]s Russell Lissack, Father Brian Ralph and Matt Walsh. Many more acts are set to be announced.

A Peaceful Noise takes place at London's Shepherds Bush Empire on Tuesday 15 November. Tickets are available here.

Watch first trailer for Clarkson, Hammond and May's new Amazon Prime show 'The Grand Tour'
The first trailer has been released for The Grand Tour, the new show from former Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

The trio will launch their new Amazon Prime car show next month. The Grand Tour will premiere on November 18. New episodes will be released every Friday for 12 weeks. The first episode will be 70 minutes long.

In the trailer, Clarkson says: "Looking good is more important than looking where you're going". Watch in full beneath.

Watch Gorillaz team up with Jaguar Racing for new short film starring Noodle
Gorillaz have teamed up with car company Jaguar Racing for a new short film.

Damon Albarn's animated band kickstarted a flurry of activity across their social media accounts last month, leading many fans to believe that the release of their album could be imminent. They were at it again earlier this week, revealing 'The Book Of Noodle' multimedia project.

Now Noodle, the cartoon guitarist, stars in a short film for Jaguar Racing, which was directed by Gorillaz' own Jamie Hewlett. Noodle has also been announced as a "global ambassador" for the brand.

"The young minds of today are the engineers of tomorrow," Noodle 'says' in a statement. "We are in the driving seat and our imaginations are the fuel. Its time to lead the charge and build a better world!"

    Watch the short film below.

In September, the band posted a mysterious photo on their Twitter account, with text reading 'The_End' with the words "Until next time".

The band's fifth album and first since 2011's 'The Fall' was originally due for release this year, but now looks set to drop next year after animator Jamie Hewlett said it was "really fuckin' special" and "can't be rushed".

Back in July, Damon Albarn said: "Later in the year well be starting to get the whole Gorillaz thing together. I'm loving it and it's getting there. It should be ready fairly soon."

Speaking of the new Gorillaz album in 2015, Albarn also said, "So far, it's really fast, and it's got quite a lot of energy. I've been stuck on piano, somewhere off Broadway, for years now. I want to go somewhere completely opposite of that."

Vic Mensa was also recently pictured in the studio with Albarn. Producer Remi Kabaka, a frequent Gorillaz collaborator who provides the voice of fictional band member Russel Hobbs, shared a photo of Mensa in the studio on Instagram (May 17).

Guy Garvey shares details of Elbow's 'chunky' and 'beat-heavy' new album
Elbow frontman Guy Garvey has unveiled details of their upcoming new album, revealing that it sounds 'chunky and beat-heavy'.

Last week saw the Mercury-winners' seventh studio record and the follow-up to 2014's 'The Take Off And Landing Of Everything' will be released on 3 February, before they head out on their "most extensive tour since 2008".

Little is known about the record, but now Garvey has shared some details in a new interview with Jo Whiley.

"There's one called 'Moleno', which I believe is Spanish or Portuguese for 'mill', one's called 'Nate' - don't ask me why. One's called 'Strut' and it's pretty obvious when you it why. And there's one called 'Charm' which is the name of a cleaning product that was sat on the desk," said Garvey.

"It's really quite chunky and beat-heavy. There's a sparseness to the songs which perhaps we're not known for. The themes are ranging as always, great big themes and concerns for the world at the same time as falling in love, looking forwards and backwards and all of the things."

He added: "It's been really fun. It's been quite fast actually. We only started it in January."

This will be their first release as a four-piece, following the departure of drummer Richard Jupp earlier this year.

Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong recently revealed that the song was written from the perspective of a mass gunman and it foretold the latest wave of mass killings in the US.

Its about the culture of mass shootings that happen in America, mixed with narcissistic social media, he said. Theres this rage happening, but its also now being filmed, and we all have ourselves under surveillance. To me, thats so twisted. You can watch the performance below.

Watch the first trailer for Season Three of 'Black Mirror'
The first trailer for Season Three of Black Mirror has been posted online.

The dystopian show, which looks at the negative impact that technology is having upon humanity, is moving onto Netflix for its third season, which will premiere in full on October 21.

Show creator Charlie Brooker recently gave the first details of each of the six episodes. You can watch the new trailer which clocks in a 2 minutes 8 seconds below.

The opening episode, 'San Junipero', will be set in a beach town synonymous with sun, surf, and sex during the 1980s, and will star Mackenzie Davis and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. Its kind of an 80s coming-of-age drama with a Black Mirror undertow, Brooker explained. Also, when Netflix picked us up, people were going, Oh that means [the show is] going to be Americanised. I thought it would be funny to fuck with those people by literally writing an episode set in California.

Second episode 'Shut Up and Dance', meanwhile, will be "the most grounded" Black Mirror episode yet, owing primarily to it being set in the present day. The following episodes 'Nosedive' and 'Men Against Fire' will cover social interactions and technological warfare respectively (with Brooker comparing the latter episode to a horror thriller, almost like The Walking Dead).

The final two episodes kick off with 'Hated in the Nation', Black Mirror's first-ever 90-minute episode. "It deals with online rage, Brooker said. It starts out like a stylish standard police procedural, then takes a bizarre turn. Finally, 'Playtest' rounds off the third season with a look at the latest in video game technology, with its central character testing out a device as mind-bendingly sophisticated as it is terrifying.

An exclusive screening of three new episodes of Black Mirror at the London Film Festival, took place at the Curzon Cinema in Chelsea last night (October 6).

Luke Cage features a prop intended for a Prince cameo
Luke Cage, the latest Marvel and Netflix collaboration, features cameos from hip hop, soul and R&B stars like Method Man, The Delfonics and Faith Evans. But theres one musician that showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker wanted more than any other to appear on the show Prince.

Coker hoped to try convince Prince to star in series finale by including a prop inspired by one of the late singers idiosyncrasies.

One of the shows reoccurring motifs is a swear jar that is used in Pops barber shop, an object that comes to hold some sentimental weight for Luke in later episodes.

On Twitter, Coker revealed that the swear jar was written in entirely with Prince in mind.

The "Swear Jar" was for Prince. I was going to show him the first two episodes and convince him to play in episode 13.— Cheo Hodari Coker (@cheo_coker) October 5, 2016

Prince, a devout Jehovahs Witness, was known to charge guests up to $20 for breaking his no swearing rule inside his Paisley Park compound.

Unfortunately, Coker never got a chance to show Prince the series.

Among the other musical guests that appear on Luke Cage are Charles Bradley, Raphael Saadiq, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, d-Nice and Jidenna.

Iggy Pop reveals why he never wears shirts
Iggy Pop has revealed what inspired him to always perform shirtless.

The Stooges frontman has famously kept up his habit of only appearing topless onstage for decades.

Pop was asked what prompted him to stop wearing shirts in an interview at Red Bull Music Academy in Montreal.

"When I dropped out of college to start the band, I kept my library card. I've always had a student mentality, so I would go to the library, and take books. Cult books about culture and religion, and think about how I could apply those, and I kept seeing these pictures of the Pharaoh. He never wore a shirt," the 69-year-old said. "That just looks about right, you know? I don't know why. I feel lost in a shirt. I just get lost."

The extensive, 90-minute long interview covers a host of topics including Iggy Pop's early avant-garde music, his time recording with the Stooges and later solo records.

Pop, who released an album Post Pop Depression made together with Josh Homme earlier this year, also gave his thoughts on the current state of the music industry.

"I don't know how the form is going to last either," he said. "I mean, I've noted that when Rihanna makes an album now the big focus tends to be on the streaming of a single number, so that's a step more in the direction of the early Sixties.

Gimme Danger, a documentary film about the Stooges directed by Jim Jarmusch, is due to be released in the US later this month. The feature film chronicles chronicles the proto-punk band's history against the cultural and political shifts of the late '60s.

Robbie Williams: 'I want Liam Gallagher to make a really great album'
Robbie Williams has admitted that he wants Liam Gallagher to make a really great album.

The singer and Oasis have had bitter public rows in the past with Noel Gallagher calling Williams 'a fat dancer' and the former Take That singer mocking their Knebworth shows. He allegedly sent Noel a pair of tap dancing shoes when he sold out three nights at Knebworth with a message boasting: "Dear Mr N Gallagher, you said two nights at Knebworth is history. Well, I guess three is just greedy. Yours, Rob.

But reflecting on their time in the 90s he said: Liam was the voice of our generation and the soundtrack to our lives and the music industry needs a Liam.

For competitiveness I dont think Ive got anything to worry about [with his solo album]. But if Liam gets the right songs, in 12 months time he could push my competitive nature and I could be pissed off.

"Right now I just want him to make a really great album. The world misses him and I hope it is brilliant.

    Getty

Williams hasn't seen the band's new documentary Supersonic but the singer said he would watch it.

He told The Sun: "If its on a flight then I will watch it. That was a fucking amazing time. High-octane stuff.

Where were you while we were getting high? Well I was there - but I pushed it way too far. Things like that show everyone having an ace time but not the hangover.

"So yeah, Id watch it on a plane but not if it reminded me of the hangover as Ive been trying to get sober ever since.

The singer who battled alcoholism and substance abuse in his younger days, has been clean for many years.

But he admitted that he is still tempted. I dont want to drink and I dont want to take coke, Im really pleased I dont take coke but I do think about ecstasy."

He also said that he still suffers from anxiety and depression. I still suffer from anxiety. As I look out at the skyline, Im sure that at every window someone is facing their own worry and panic about their own life," he added.

Its either low-level or high-level depression. So I try to take care of myself the best I can. If that means resting and taking myself away for a few hours then I will."

He continued: Ive been to therapy again this year. Its a big do putting an album out, speaking to people like yourself and going on TV shows and then doing it again, country after country.

Even if I was the most sound person, it would be stressful. And Im not the most sound person - I am the opposite of that.

Williams recently courted controversy in Russia over his new single 'Party Like A Russian' and its accompanying music video.
