Chic Featuring Nile Rodgers have announced that they're set to play a special one-off Christmas show in London.
The 'Good Times' disco pioneer and Daft Punk collaborator will be performing at London's Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith Friday 23 December - at a charity show to raise money for Autism Rocks. Tickets are on sale from 9am on Wednesday 19 October.
This will be Rodgers and co's first UK appearance since headlining FOLD Festival back in the summer, which he curated. Meanwhile the 'Let's Dance' collaborator has teased that he's been working with Beck and Sia and his new album.
Following the death of David Bowie, Rodgers spoke to NME to pay tribute to his friend and collaborator.
Its still shocking to me. Its hard to accept it, but Ive had a lot of tragedy in my rocknroll life," he said. "David Bowie introduced me to Stevie Ray Vaughan and I gave the eulogy at Stevie Rays funeral. We were doing a record and he and his brother left for a show and only one came back. With David, our relationship was a very interesting one in that people dont realise that weve done quite a bit of music together. Everyone talks about Lets Dance but they never talk about Black Tie White Noise and Miracle Goodnight and China Girl and Modern Love and Ricochet and all this other stuff. Weve done a lot of music. So I feel, in a strange way, that we were in a holding pattern. When I work with artists Im so immersed in the project that it feels like all Im doing is living and breathing it for a while and as soon as that records over Im on to the next thing, Im immersed in the next persons life.
"But because were tied together forever Id always call and say, Hey, were playing here, do you think David will come out and do a couple of songs with us?. I was in contact with them, we called the office right away but I respect peoples boundaries, I dont try to push myself on people."
