Beastie Boys' Mike D has remixed Warpaint's 'New Song' the lead single taken from the band's latest album 'Heads Up'.
The LA group released the follow-up to their 2014 self-titled album on September 23 via Rough Trade.
Writing on Twitter, Warpaint said: We love Mike and Beastie Boys so much forever. Honored to have his magic touch our tune." You can listen to the remix below.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Mike D said: "I feel very fortunate, because I either work with or cross paths with a lot of different musicians, and that's how you find the coolest shit. Anyway, that's my musician bias."
Continuing, he said: "Also, when I was a little kid and I got into punk rock and the Clash and the Slits; that's how I found about reggae," he added. "They were inspired by it and were very clear and open about that influence. Then it made me dig further, so it's the same thing."
Over the past year, Warpaints members have been busy working on various solo projects. Jenny Lee Lindberg released a solo album under the name jennylee, Emily Kokal worked with Saul Williams and Paul Bergmann and Theresa Wayman has been working on a solo project called BOSS.
Warpaint are touring the UK this month. The dates are as follows:
Bristol, Simple Things Festival (October 22) Edinburgh, Queens Hall (23) Manchester, Albert Hall (24) Liverpool, The Dome (26) London, The Roundhouse (27)
