    Time Event
    8:58a
    Major Announcement
It's been 10 awesome years of fiction and fun. I've loved every minute of it. However a decade feels like a good time to make a major change. When you visit the site, you will see that it is now public. That's right, you no longer need a paid subscription to read most of the stories. I say most, because I have been gradually converting the series into ebooks (as you are aware) and those are therefore not on the site as free. It is my hope to eventually have all the series converted into better edited, better plotted and stronger novels, but of course it will take time. So in the meantime I've left the majority of the series up on the site if you care to read them. But as I said, better versions will be incoming. In writing these storylines for 10 years, you probably aren't surprised to hear that I sometimes lost characterization (Finn and Parker, looking at you), left loose ends (hello, JC), and occasionally got lost (Eternity, what a crappy story you turned out to be). So in revisiting these stories from the beginning, I am happy to fix my mistakes and hopefully produce the novels these always should have been.

The decision to open the site and cancel all subscriptions wasn't taken lightly. I literally cringed when I began cancelling the first subs because let's face it, I'm still earning an income off the site and now that's gone. However the success of the ebooks and my job on the ship has made this seem like the next logical step. Lack of consistent internet on the ship has been a huge, embarrassing problem. I hated having to tell you guys a story was/will be late because of the internet because I was sure half of you didn't believe me. And finding time to write the chapters while on the ship has been difficult too. It's been a miracle I managed to do it for a year. I don't have days off on the ship, rather, the only time I don't work is when we're in port. But who would stay on board and write when you're in Barcelona for the day or Santorini? So time was an issue and I feel like the quality of the chapters (and their lengths) have suffered because of it.

Also, I've reached a point where I've realized that I could keep writing for the site in my spare time but if I did, it would be the only writing I would be able to manage. That would mean no time to work on my mainstream novels, no chance to be published by a major publisher which has always been my dream. So to move forward, to make the dream reality, I have to sacrifice something. JF's regular updates are my choice.

All subscriptions were cancelled in August. You won't be billed any longer and you don't need to do a thing. I will be contacting the few of you who have recent lifetime subs that are owed a refund. The JF bookstore is still open and accepting Paypal and credit cards.

As far as the unfinished storylines on JF go, I'm not abandoning them. Juxtan is nearly finished, JC is just about there, as is the Guardian. These stories will conclude, however I will continue to update these stories at an extremely leisurely pace. That is, maybe once a month, maybe not even that often, depending on when I feel the urge and have the time. All of the storylines still interest me and I know where they're going, so it's not like I'm eager to abandon them. I'd like to see them come to good conclusions so I can eventually publish the universes in their entirety. It's to my benefit to finish them, so don't worry.

I'm opening JF with a smile on my face because this feels like the right thing to do and the right time to do it. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for granting me 10 wonderful, stupendous years to be as creative as I could be. So many incredible opportunities and friendships were made possible because of JF, and that's all thanks to your interest in these stories. I will be forever grateful. I hope the eventual JF library will show you my appreciation.

    Tricia :)
