heartofsteel	10:01p	Animes watched Kijin Gentoushou #07: Jinya was tasked to investigate a cursed painting which was not actually cursed. Instead, jinya got to know of his adopted father from the artist. Saikyou no Ousama, Nidome no Jinsei wa Nani wo Suru #07: Tesse's grandfather aided Arthur to stabilise hus beast will within him and a baby dragon was born through the assimilation. Arthur named the baby dragon - sylvie. With interaction of different races brought forward, Arthur was able to return to his family earlier. He finally met his family. Your Forma #07: E's followers attacked echida and other inspectors but failed. They also set explosive to government building through the commander's cat. Harold disregarded the laws implanted to him, used a pistol to shoot a door off so he could save echida who was losing consciousness. Later, he discussed with her and came up with a suspect who had worked for E which was actually an AI. Current Mood: awake

lore	5:33p	Age...fading sounds.... I suppose there's no hiding it anymore. I'm aging. And while my brain wants to age gracefully, with acceptance and positivity, my heart often gets in the way. I can definitively say that music is my trigger. Nothing can make me cry out of the blue like a piece of music. I went to the trusty (rusty?) TiVO this weekend - yes, it still works! - and I watched a couple Great Performances. 1. Henry Mancini's 100th birthday anniversary at the Hollywood Bowl and, 2. Rodger's and Hammerstein's 80th anniversary concert First, I should point out that I didn't have to look up any of the artists to spell their names correctly. That's how ingrained they are in my life. Second, I didn't actually cry at any of this, but I did get sad. I could tell that most of the crowd at the Hollywood Bowl seemed to appreciate the music, but did not understand the history and weight of it. Mancini's daughter, Monica, singing "Two for the Road" should have brought the house down, but there was mere applause. I think that's because most of the audience was born after Mancini's heyday. I'm not even a particular fan, but I can't get "Moon River" out of my damn head. Cynthia Erivo sang "Le Jazz Hot" from Victor/Victoria, and she sang the heck out of it, but not the hell out of it, which is what Julie Andrews did with it. I'm not knocking Erivo, either. I know she wanted to give it her own spin and energy, but it's just not the same energy as Andrews' (go to 2:53 for when the song picks up if you don't [why why WHY??] want to view the whole thing). In other Songs Taking Up Residence In My Head Since Last Weekend, I feel like the singers of the Rogers and Hammerstein special had more energy, as did the audience. Maybe because musicals are so open to interpretation, the performance can be different, but still compelling. I just have to share this tiny bit of Marisha Wallace's Ado Annie from Oklahoma. That's a production I wish I could see! If you want to hear the whole song, the audio alone is on YouTube. Watching the R&S special made me want to dig out my DVDs or find an Old Movie Streaming package. Is anyone else not unpacking DVDs since streaming hit? I know there's lots of good, new "stuff" out there, some of which I'm likely to talk about soon. But sometimes, I just want to old lady wallow in some movie musical magic. So, is this a post about aging? Not exactly; I can see that it turned into my thoughts on the specials. But if you want one tiny piece of Old Lady lore to take with you, remember this - I can't hear "Don't Stop Believin'" in any form without getting teary. I didn't even successfully type this moisture-free. heartofsteel	8:40a	Animes watched A-Rank Party wo Ridatsu shita Ore wa, Moto Oshiego-tachi to Meikyuu Shinbu wo Mezasu #17: Rune decided to join Clover and Clover returned to home town with warm welcome from the residents. Bye Bye Earth s2 #06: Belle and others faced off the undead and retrieved the sword. While others retreated with the sword, Belle who was joined by rabbitat moved on. Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru #06: Beryl was asked to check and to prevent the mastermind Bishop from escaping. The Bishop sent undead attacking him. Beryl eliminated the undead including Mewi's dead elder sister. After the Bishop was arrested, beryl was rewarded with a mansion. The magic Corp commander also got Beryl to become mewi's guardian. Kuroshitsuji: Midori no Majo-hen #06: After receiving the queen's letter, Sebastian used drastic action to get ciel to return to his normal self. Ciel read the letter and learned the queen wanted him to bring the Emerald witch to London. Lazarus #06: The two youngest lazarus members infiltrated a cult related to Dr skinner and almost got burnt but a follower aided them to use a beacon to get fbi and other lazarus members to get into the Base. Ore wa Seikan Kokka no Akutoku Ryoushu #06: Liam got into authority area for wormhole and after unsuccessful negotiations, he came across the unmanned control room and got his fleet to get through and defeated the pirate fleet. Teogonia #05: Kai followed the noble subordinate and others to investigate the wild God stone and came across a destroyed village of other clan. Current Mood: awake

heartofsteel	10:21p	Animes watched Kijin Gentoushou #06: Jinya guided the samurai to learn his elder brother had tried to help a girl who turned into demon 200 years ago after losing her parents and home. Jinya revealed the truth after the samurai left that the elder brother was willing to forsake his real family to help her. After he returned to his real dimension, he had aged and went to open a soba shop,with the demon girl as his adopted daughter. Isshun de Chiryou shiteita noni Yakutatazu to Tsuihou sareta Tensai Chiyushi, Yami Healer toshite Tanoshiku Ikiru #06: Zenos found the golem was created using Aston as core to destroy the slum. He destroyed the golem and saved Aston. After which he punched Aston and took his sword as compensation. The mastermind - the Guide knew he would face zenos again one day. Saikyou no Ousama, Nidome no Jinsei wa Nani wo Suru #06: The elven former king took Arthur as his disciple and brought him to a seer so he could talk to his parents remotely that he was still alive. Arthur stayed in the elven town for next three years to train. Your Forma #06: Echida's friend - Bigga followed into E's followers lair and found her father being one of E's followers. After being cornered, Bigga's father triggered himself into coma so cyber detective would not dive into his thoughts. Current Mood: awake

lore	5:03p	What's so Cozy about murder?...Noodle Shop Mysteries.... Feh. I have more fannish navel-gazing on my mind, but I don't feel like picking at scabs today. pauraque, I will reply soon, but thank you! You had some helpful thoughts. <3 Reading-wise, I've been trying to figure out the "Cozy" mystery phenomena by starting to read one. So far, I'm still mystified. I'm on book 4 of the Noodle Shop Mystery series, labeled a cozy series by my local library. After my ongoing obsession with the Crazy Rich Asians books, this series seemed like a good fit for my first cozy read. They are not written with too much depth, which I define as above a 12th-grade reading level with more vocabulary and flourish, but that's not a bad thing. I haven't had as much time to read fiction in the past few years, but I am determined to keep fiction reading in my life. So, something that goes down easy is fine with me. The writing is not overly simplified - I've read a couple of those books, and no, thank you. I think the cozy part is that the murders are gristly, but not graphic, and there's a huge cast of characters with lots of charm. It's like reading Gilmore Girls. I also could see this series as a Hallmark Movies and Mysteries offering. The basic scenario is that Lana, daughter to the owners of Ho-Lee Noodle House in Asia Village and sometimes waitress, can't help but poke her nose in when murder visits the Village. If you read the author's bio, that's Lana; she's not hiding the Mary Sue of it all. She's surrounded by the regulars of Asia Village, who spend most of their time telling her to stand up straight and stop snooping around - it's dangerous! lore	11:34a	Snape/Lupin notes...Still struggling with small-letter fandom... I had the SO* open up a blog for me because I felt weighted down by the history of All Things Journal, but this is still my preferred platform for writing my thoughts, sporadic as they may come. I had a lovely note from the person running a Snupin Discord community. A post will probably appear on lupin_snape sometime soon, but if you can't wait, visit https://discord.gg/npBpN2mXhC. I'm already lurking there because no matter how bad JKR makes me feel about her work, the people who love my ship are some of the best still hanging in fandom (and yes, I know there are others great Fandomers out there. All Fandoms rule, no matter how weirdly I feel about being fannish these days). I *still* haven't been able to bring myself to post that fic I discussed previously to AO3. I really ought to just pull the trigger and take my lumps. I have slowly, at a glacial pace, been talking to AO3 about moving a couple of the major Snape/Lupin archives I inherited or created to AO3. It's a complicated process, but these two sites keep going down and the platforms are beyond ancient. I'm worried they will go down and I won't be able to get them up again, even with the help of the SO. Think I'll stop here for now. Still struggling to be fannish in this world of properties going on too long, creators revealing what asshats they are, and other properties being cut off at the knees before they really get started. Mage captain defeated the gang and took in the mage girl. Kuroshitsuji: Midori no Majo-hen #05: Sebastian got snake to help him investigate on the werewolf. Meanwhile, the queen's messager turned up. Lazarus #05: Axel and team set up a fake conference for antidote of the drug to lure out Dr skinner. A hacker turned up instead and got away. One Piece #1128: Sanji, Vegapunk and others managed to get bonney back. One of the five elders - Saturn turned up. Bonney attacked him as she saw him in Kuma's memory of ordering Vegapunk to take away all Kuma's free will. Current Mood: awake

heartofsteel	9:38p	Animes watched A-Rank Party wo Ridatsu shita Ore wa, Moto Oshiego-tachi to Meikyuu Shinbu wo Mezasu #16: Yuke and rune were trapped in the labyrinth dimension for 2 weeks until rain's voice guided them out. Yuke returned to learn rain had went to the Prince to borrow a compass to guide yuke out and he got her back from the Prince who punished rain's uncle. In return, the Prince asked yuke to help him venture a labyrinth in his land and he agreed. That day, yuke reunited with all his party members and guild master. Bye Bye Earth s2 #05: The people attacked the guards and freed belle and others. They set off to fight the undead. Adonis meanwhile got the princess to guide him somewhere. Ore wa Seikan Kokka no Akutoku Ryoushu #05: Liam began to buy second hand robots to replace the faulty useless ones. The spirit was not happy to learn he could not get negative emotion from Liam. Teogonia #04: Kai got attention from Jose and her father who tried to train with him everyday. The koror clan daughter whom kai had saved started staying with kai in the valley whenever he dropped by to visit at night. Current Mood: blah

Angered, he ran off. Later that night, a golem attacked the slum street. Saikyou no Ousama, Nidome no Jinsei wa Nani wo Suru #05: The elf girl turned out to be the elf princess and she got her guards to release arthur. Her grandfather- the former king noticed Arthur's potential and asked him if he wanted to be his student. Your Forma #05: Echida got into depression after learning truth about the Android AI rules of respect and her ability level dropped, forcing her to leave her cyber inspector position to be transferred to other post. Harold had to take on a new working partner from France. Current Mood: awake
