    Purged InsaneJournals?
Hi everyone! (Or whoever is still following this community.) Like ceresi, I recently felt moved to reread through the old Dungeons canon. I was having a great time going back through the archives on LJ and reliving the game, so imagine my disappointment when I got to the transition to InsaneJournal and found that several of the game journals had been deleted and purged!

So far I've noticed operculum, snuff_dog, princeofboredom, and markd_improvmnt have been deleted. The entries still show up on the community pages, but of course you can't click through to them. Using the Google wayback machine usually gets me the original post, along with the first few comments, but for those posts with long threads of comments, the rest of the comments are unreachable.

What I'm wondering is, is there any kind of technological wizardry that would allow a person to view those old threads? Or are they simply gone forever? It's just so depressing to think that all of that time and energy and creativity simply... vanished into thin air. I don't even know why those journals would have been deleted - surely the authors would have wanted to preserve that game history?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated, if indeed there are any solutions to this. I was just so much enjoying my reread that it was a very unpleasant shock to realize that such huge chunks of the game might now be gone forever. :-(
