When she gets the part of Castiel, a character she identifies with more strongly than any other, she's never been happieruntil she discovers that the actor playing Dean Winchester is none other than Siobhan, the girl shes had a crush on for two years. We saw these two together in canon but only glimpses. This fic explores how they got together in the first place. An interesting alternate take on what has become of Claire since S4 and how both she and Hael find the beginnings of healing together. |

Unfortunately, that lasts until he's blackmailed into taking a job with the Moore family, who give him a week in their estate to break up their daughter's engagement to some no-name law student. It was impossible to stop reading this. A fabulous AU Sam and Dean reunion fic. Great writing and excellent characterizations. |

The author manages to create a memorable character out of a mattress, who then provides a unique and heartwarming perspective on her owners, Sam and Dean. Sun in My Mouth cydsa | NC-17 | Warnings: Language, sibling incest, demons, angels, magic, sexual situations, Bottom!DeanSummary: Three years after Sam loses his brother to Hell, he discovers that Dean has been sent topside. Sam has made some compromises to find Dean. Just how far he’s gone, just how much he’s done, well, Dean is probably going to be pissed. Once Sam gets Dean back, he isn’t planning on losing him again. No matter what he has to do. Never again. A beautiful representation of the boys' relationship and an amazing and original alternative resolution to the Mark of Cain problem. A really great read. |

Reccer's notes: A really beautifully crafted story illustrating key moments in their history that illuminate their deep brotherly bond. With the bonus of some really hilarious lines. Seriously, Im not sure exactly where this would fall continuity-wise, but definitely at least Season 9 or 10 for references. I dont think I give away anything devastating, though."Summary: After an accident involving a witch and some transformation potions, Dean is in need of constant supervision (but what else is new), Sam has to get a little more in touch with his feminine side, and both brothers are in over their heads. Reccer's notes: Who can resist baby!Dean fic? This is clever, funny, and brings something fresh to the transformation trope. |

I've never SEEN anything like this before. I am completely addicted to puzzle games like 2048, and this just took my addiction and amplified it by j2-thousand times. Then its not so funny anymore. Reccer's notes: This an interesting mix of RPF and AU, which will be acceptable, I think, to those readers who aren't fond of RPF. Though how anyone could resist this story is beyond me. The author manages to deliver humor, angst, schmoop, and really hot sex -- all under 11K words. An amazing story and one that I know I'll be reading again. |

Despite being natural enemies, he and Jared have to find a way to work together to escape a group of hunters. Reccer's notes: Who knew someone could write a story about a vampire and a werewolf and make it simultaneously suspenseful, sexy, hilarous, intense, violent, and sweet? A truely great piece of work. |

Castiel comes in with a plan to change nearly everything that makes A Batch Made in Heaven Dean’s, and while Dean resists at first, he soon realizes that maybe Castiel isn’t everything he’s taken him to be. It's always intriguing how authors deal with the power differential between these two in all-human AUs. As is often the case, this time it's money, and watching Cas figure out how to wield that power without being an ass is half the fun of this fic. |

Being raised in foster homes, he's always felt some sort of emptiness inside of him, that only a child of his own could fill. Now he's happily married to Jared and soon enough, he finds himself pregnant. It's a dream come true, until an aneurism rupture puts him into a coma. Jared needs to face the fact that he might be raising their child alone after all, as the months go by and Jensen's due date comes irremediably closer. Reccer's notes: J2 AU written in first person, which works really well for this story. It is sweet and funny, intense and emotional, and it felt very true. |

I'm more interested in plot than PWP, but I will read anything written by selecasharp, even "straight-up porn." If this doesn't bring a flush to your skin, I don't know what will. Whew! Seasons Summary: In which Sam and Dean share a quieter future. I am always amazed by writers who can evoke so many feelings with so few words. This is a lovely vignette that represents a future I hope Dean and Sam can have. What is and What Shall Always Be Written for this prompt: Sam and Dean are watching tv late after a hunt one night on the motel couch. In the middle of the night one of them wakes up to realize that they've fallen asleep and curled up together. Also, boners. A sexy story that for me epitomizes the sexual tension we imagine between the boys. Very well written, with a lovely ending. |

The joy that the real pics have brought fandom over the past week? Totally captured in this piece, just with a little extra J2-ness thrown in there for extra joy. Happy Together ash48 | G| Summary (from the vidder, because she said it so well!) Every now and then a song comes along that just screams J2. When I saw this song mentioned in reference to the Js I just knew I had to make a vid to it. But I wanted to do something a little different than just a J2 vid so thought about combining Sam and Dean with Jared and Jensen. I wanted to show how their off screen chemistry and camaraderie feeds into the on screen chemistry between Sam and Dean. So the idea of "happy together" is the matching of Jared and Jensen to Sam and Dean. And it's not only great seeing the Js happy in each others company, but also seeing those glimpse of when the brothers are happy being together. Even though their relationship is fraught with drama (and all the angst!), I believe that there is a sense of happiness and peace when they are truly working well and just being together. What the vidder has done here with the combination of convention clips and Supernatural clips is so fun. The parallels she noticed and included will make you smile and shake your head at the boys at the same time. Maybe I Can Be Saved tripperfunster | G | Stained glass window depicting a scene in which Sam gets the quest he always hoped for. I love pieces that use different media, so this stained glass window was a beautiful surprise. You can see by looking at it, and by scrolling through the artist's journal that this was a labor of love that spanned several months. It really pays off, as it's exquisitely executed. The earnest look on Sam's face just slays me. |

Reccer's notes: A hauntingly sad and beautifully written look at what might have been. Frater Lupinus Sam's older brother is, and always has been, a wolf. It doesn't make much sense to Sam, but it's still an undeniable fact of life. Or, at least it is until Dean gets caught in the wrong spell and Sam ends up with a human-shaped brother who's surprisingly unhappy with the situation. Sam's always known that Dean would take a secret to the grave if he thought it was in Sam's best interests. He wasn't expecting a secret like this. Reccer's notes: Great brother-focused story, with classic Winchester family dynamics and an ending that is satisfying but also leaves you wanting more. "Not I," said the Cat It blew in on a cool breeze and a flutter of dead leaves. They never stood a chance. Reccer's notes: Dean finds a kitten. Of course, he is allergic. A sweet, lovely, funny slice of Winchester life. |

No spoilers for season ten. Dean’s journey is amazing and cathartic, at least for us! you are my little kite He stares at himself in the mirror. Dean used to be able to see himself, but now he just sees pieces; his crooked nose, his eyes, his mouth, twisted up. He can’t make the parts resolve into the whole. Not anymore. Lovely subtle touches make this story, set just pre-series, throb with Dean’s own loss. The New York Story To Sam it was always The New York Story. Angsty goodness with great backstory (both about John and about the history of Sam/Dean) and a continuation of Dean’s pigheaded insistence on self-sacrifice. Out of the Woods Summary: After Flint, the boys decide to go on one of their regular hunts in rural Ohio. But there's something else out there in the woods, stalking Dean, and for Sam, saving him means facing down the complicated mess of emotions sitting between them. Very enjoyable monsters (well, for the reader anyway) and lovely longing and mutual confessions. |

Dean and Castiel both get put on heavenly community service to pay for their "crimes". And they learn their lesson alright, just not the one Heaven had planned on teaching them. It’s like an all-human AU and an all-angel AU all rolled up in one. Great characterizations and very cool twists. Unfurl, Like A Wing In A Thermal After a run-in with a rogue Woman of Letters, Castiel finds himself with visible wings. Being injured in the aftermath of the encounter and stuck on lockdown in the bunker is bad enough, but between attacking zombies, cultlike followers, and his tentative relationship with Dean, he soon finds that his injuries are the least of his worries. This has the feel of a regular case (with zombies) and then quickly takes any expectations the reader might have and turns them on their heads. |
